Beulah in the Bible
Hebrew: בְּעוּלָ֑ה —transliteration: ba`al —meaning: to be master, to marry, married, to be husband, to have dominion over —occurrences: 15
This name is used in the King James Version of Isaiah 62:4 metaphorically as the name of Judea: “Thy land shall be married,” i.e., favored and blessed of the Lord.
Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. —Isaiah 62:4 KJV
