   He was assumedly given his name (Joses = Joseph) in honor of his father Joseph, husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus (Matthew 13:55; Mark 6:3).

   Jesus had at least 4 brothers and some sisters (Matthew 13:55-56; Mark 6:3). His brothers, in addition to Joses/Joseph, were James, Juda (aka Judah, Jude, Judas—not Judas Iscariot), and Simon (not Simon Peter.
