Kabzeel
also known as: Jekabzeel / Hebrew: יקַּבְצְאֵל
Hebrew: קַבְצְאֵל —transliteration: Kabzeel —meaning: gathering of God, or God gathers
This was a city in the extreme south of Judah, near to Idumaea (Joshua 15:21), the birthplace of Benaiah, one of David’s chief warriors (2 Samuel 23:20; 1 Chronicles 11:22).
It was called also Jekabzeel (Neh. 11:25), after the Captivity.
Its remains are possibly located in modern Hura, Israel (Khirbet Hora; Horvat Hur), 6 miles (10 km) from Beersheba (Be'er Sheva, Israel).1
