Kohath is the second son of Jacob’s son Levi, and the father of Amram (Genesis 46:11).

He came down to Egypt with Jacob, and lived to the age of 133 years (Exodus 6:18).

Kohath’ descendants are Koathite Levites.

Moses and Aaron are his grandsons.
