Who is…
Leah

Meaning: weary

Leah is the eldest daughter of Laban, and sister of Rachel (Genesis 29:16).

Leah grew up in an apparently prosperous and wealthy family in Paddan Aram, near Haran in Mesopotamia.

Jacob unknowingly married through the deceit of her father and her (Genesis 29:23). She is described as having weak eyes or tender-eyes, depending on the translation (Gen. 29:17).

Apparently she was not as beautiful in form and appearance as her younger sister Rachel.

Leah bore 6 sons to Jacob (Gen. 29:32-35), also one daughter, Dinah (30:21).

She accompanied Jacob into the land of Canaan, and died there before the time of the going down into Egypt (Genesis 31), and was buried in the cave of Machpelah (49:31).
