The Rock of Oreb
This is the place where Gideon slew Oreb after the defeat of the Midianites (Judges 7:25; Isaiah 10:26).
“And they captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the winepress of Zeeb. Then they pursued Midian, and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon across the Jordan.” —Judges 7:25 ESV
“And the LORD of hosts will wield against them a whip, as when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb…” Isaiah 10:26a ESV
According to Matthew Easton, it was probably the place later called Orbo, on the east of Jordan, near Bethshean (Beth-shean).
