    This Rechab is one of Ishbosheth’s commanders of military bands of men.

    Ishbosheth is a son of King Saul. Rechab and his brother Baanah assassinated Ishbosheth in the false hope of winning special favor with David, which it certainly did not (2 Sam. 4:2).

    He is the father of Jehonadab, who was the father of the Rechabites (2 Kings 10:15, 23; Jeremiah 35:6-19)
