Who is…
Serah
also known as: Sarah and Serach
Hebrew: שֶׂרַח —transliteration: Serach —suggested meaning: abundance; princess —occurrences: 3 (in Genesis, Numbers and 1 Chronicles)
Serah is the daughter of Asher and grand-daughter of Jacob (Israel) (Genesis 46:17; 1 Chronicles 7:30). She lived in both Canaan, Egypt, and through the Exodus and in the wilderness.
She was probably a woman of some significance, as she is the only daughter of Asher that is mentioned, and the only grand-daughter of Jacob that is mentioned, whereas 53 of his grandsons are listed.
In Genesis she is mentioned in connection with the census taken by Moses in the wilderness.
In the King James Version, she is also called “Sarah” in one verse (Numbers 26:46 KJV. However, other versions say “Serah”.
