Field of Zophim
Meaning: field of watchers
This is a place in the land of Moab on the range of Pisgah.
To this place King Balak brought Balaam, so that he might from there curse the children of Israel. Balaam found himself unable to curse them, but could only speak the word of the Lord, and that was blessing.
And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar. —Numbers 23:14 KJV
This place is the modern Tal'at-es-Safa.
