![]() EVERESTReviewed By: Matt MiddletonVOLUNTEER GUEST REVIEWER
Genre: Sports Have you ever sat and wondered what it would be like to climb a mountain, one like Everest? Have you ever tried to imagine yourself on the summit? Well, you don't have to imagine anymore… ![]() “Everest” is an excellent mountain climbing simulation featuring Ed Viesturs as your interactive guide. You are the leader of a team of five (you pick them before you start) given the chance to climb Mount Everest. You'll face challenges such as falling ice, sinkholes, falling from your ladder, and other injuries and sicknesses. You have to keep climbing until you reach the bases. At each base you'll have to get more supplies, rest, and get your health back. Members of your team may drop out at the base camp because of sickness or injury. If a member of your team dies, then you automatically "lose."
Another downer in this game is that you can get burned out on it quickly. The game takes time and a lot of it. I bought it for twenty bucks, played it for a week or two, and then set in a shelf where I didn't play it any further. Occasionally, I would pick it up and try to master it. However, it can be frustrating and boring. The graphics in this game are really neat, despite the fact that the game is from '99. You have cool POVs and sounds in this game. I recommend it to people who like real-time sports strategy.
