"Frogger" was a hit arcade game a while back featuring a frog who must hop across a busy street and a raging river to safety on the other side. If Frogger wasn't quick enough, he would get struck down by an oncoming truck or car, or he would drown in the river (which was odd, considering he is supposed to be a frog!).

Well, “Frogger” is back… in full-blown 3D. Okay, so that isn't really impressive, considering the game boards retain their classic “flatness” and Frogger won't win any awards for polygon count. But this game has much to offer over the original, while retaining that classic excitement and feel. You can play the original board from the first Frogger, or try the entirely new levels. New levels include a forest full of bees, a crowded city street (but this time you aren't going across the street--but UP the street!), a factory, and many more. You will now jump across moving platforms, floors that break, gears that spin, and hippos that like to dive underwater right when you least expect it. It's great fun to play online or with some other friends at the computer. You can also play a “quest” mode, which is a single player game that takes Frogger through some new and exciting levels. There is absolutely nothing to really object to in this game. Like the original, if you don't get Frogger to move out of the way fast enough--you're treated to a “splat” sound and you see Frogger across the road… a bit thinner than before. But it's more funny than violent. I don't think anybody would find this objectionable.

“Frogger” is a great classic. I'm glad it's been brought to life again with new levels and much more replay value. The multi-player and Internet capabilities are great. Nobody should miss out on this title.
