Okage is quite possibly the worst role playing game on the Playstation 2. First off, it starts out with a normal boy living a normal life, when one day his sister is attacked by a ghost and gets a disease named the pig latin disease, in which she can only talk in pig latin. Using the power of a magic bottle of his fathers, the boy summons an evil spirit and sells his soul to it to heal his sisters new disease. After that, the evil a spirit and the boy go on a quest to cover the world in darkness…

Okage plays like a normal RPG. Fight battles, get money, gain exp. and explore dungeons. The downside? Okage makes this very tedious. Almost every dungeon looks exactly the same as the last one, and each dungeon has the same puzzle to get through it- Destroy Urns to open doors. Repeat this a few times, and fight a boss, who is extremely tough, several times stronger then he should be, which forces you to level up in every dungeon, and the battles you have to fight are very, very, boring. One thing about the game that was semi- interesting is the dialog. It's almost all humor. Also, every time your character gets to talk, you chose what you want him to say, although this doesn't really matter much, as you will always get the same result.

If you're not offended by the fact you are forced to sell your soul and go on an evil quest, and can realize that this is just a game then this wont bother you much.

All in all, Okage is a game you should stay away from, even though it's low price tag may tempt you. There are much better role playing games to invest your money in.

Positive—Saying that this game is not worth playing is harsh. When you think of a final fantasy game they both are preety much the same. The Graphics are actually incredible. The dungeons are alittle hard but it is worth playing. The puzzles are what this game is really about. My Ratings: [4 / 5]

Neutral—Okage: Shadow King is a fun game, and I overall enjoyed it. Its gameplay is not as bad as the reviewer put it to be, but it does get boring after a while. Its also a bit humourous, and has many characters you can play as (Seven I think). There is nothing offensive to a Christian, and it good for kids and adults. Just try not to get bored of it too early, ok? My Ratings: [5 / 3]
