MVP: Most Valuable Primate

Despite a few slow scenes, this movie was a very poignant film that depicted faith in every possible way it could. Good movie to share with your family! If you can overlook the two profane words, this should be a very entertaining film to watch. My wife and kids loved it! Wonderful film! My Ratings: [Excellent / 4½]

This film was an endearing and special film. Not many films like this get made everyday, and it was a wonderful experience for my family and I. I don’t know if your other reviewers saw the same movie that I saw. What I saw was a film that shared a strong story about faith and redeeming values. Yes, there were two profane words, but this did not take away from the film’s beautiful message. Family films need to be made, folks, whether or not they come in the form of “cute monkey movies”. I thought that it was a special film that should be shared with everyone. Highly recommended, and most of all, appropriate for all ages! My Ratings: [Excellent / 5]

Timmy is a little boy with no one to turn to, until he meets his little monkey friend during a hockey game in Nebraska. Timmy loves hockey. As a matter of fact, Timmy brings his monkey friend home with him, somehow unrealistically hiding him from his parents. The rest of the movie basically consists of some “cute” oh-look-the-monkey’s-playing-champion-hockey sequences, and the rest is a waste of time. Kids may be enticed to see this one. For most adults, however, it will be a headache inducing borefest. This movie was marketed for children, and I am very disturbed that it did not recieve a PG-13 rating for some of the major thematic elements that occured in the film. There were also two very profane words used in the film (ScreenIt says that there was only two d-words, but I could have sworn I heard a GD in there somewhere.) Overall, it was a waste of time for adults, and a very inappropriate film for children. If you are still thinking of dragging your kiddies to this flick, take extreme caution. I really do think that Hollywood is running out of sane ideas for family features! How many more sweet animal features are they going to put out before they decide that the people of America have had enough with cute monkey movies? I want to see more family features like “October Sky” and “Stand by Me”! This film had good intentions and good moral lessons, but that is all. There was not one humourous moment in this film, and there were two very profane words in the movie that should not have been in a cute monkey movie… NO MORE CUTE MONKEYS! My Ratings: [3/1]
