“Gigglebugs” is a live-action filmed show for young children reminiscent of some of the TBN-style Saturday morning programs for kids. The first installment from the Gigglebugs gang teaches kids “a fun way to learn about obedience.” Other programs to come include lessons on sharing and loving.
This 45-minute video shows audiences filled with kids enjoying the silly antics of the adults who act in conjunction with adult-size members dressed up as Gigglebugs. The program includes numerous songs like the Gigglebugs theme song, “Noah”, “I Can Serve the Lord,” “Look Up,” and others. Skits and puppetry is the medium whereby God’s truths are instilled.
This Christian ministry travels to different conventions and places where they can share God’s love with children. Coming at this from a perspective of not having heard of them before, there was little in the video that captured the attention of myself or my young children. Technically it is okay with a professional feel, but unless your children are already fans of the Gigglebugs I’m not sure there will be a lot of replay value to this video series.
Overall, good biblical teaching, but nothing outstanding to make me recommend the Gigglebugs series.
