Based on a true story
Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “Eddy is an 18-year-old, developmentally handicapped young man who runs away to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball for the Clippers. Hungry and alone, he ends up in a homeless shelter, where the center’s director, Carol, introduces him to his new Big Brother, Mike, a young African-American basketball player. Mike has missed his shot to play NBA basketball due to a knee injury. Although Mike is at the shelter to perform mandatory community service, his relationship with Eddy quickly turns from duty to friendship, and Eddy teaches Mike a profound life lesson about never letting go of your dreams.”
