A Tale Of Murder, Mayhem and Revenge

Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “The unthinkable horror and chaos continues a few weeks after the events depicted in “House of 1000 Corpses,” as the murderous Firefly family is forced on the lam after a bloody showdown at their home. With their story all over the news, the Firefly family continues their soulless killing spree, while Sheriff John Wydell (William Forsythe)—hell-bent on revenging his brother’s murder—looks to track them down for one last horrifying confrontation.”

Positive—This is a very entertaining action adventure. After “House of a 1000 Corpses” I was expecting another dumb horror movie, but what I got instead was a wild ride. The action is well done, the acting is good, and the writing is quite witty and funny. The film does however contain scenes of gory violence, but nothing worse than Die Hard or any Schwarzenegger flick. All in all, if you like fast paced intense action films, this one’s for you.

Negative—What a complete waste of time and money. If you have any sense of self worth, please stay away from this atrocity. I have never wanted to walk out of a movie before tonight; the only thing that kept me in my seat was to see how this mess could possibly end. If anyone can stomach horror films, I can. If anyone is not easily offended, it is I. But, my, oh my, this movie was unthinkably barbaric, sick, twisted, and disgusting (not just visually, but mentally). I feel sorry for Rob Zombie; God only knows what he has going on in his corrupt mind.

After leaving the theater I wanted to go home and take a shower, and I had lost my appetite. Again, this was not due to gore and guts, but because The Devil’s Rejects made me feel like one of the cheap, dirty zombies it depicts. Proceed with caution. extremely offensive movie to pepole of all ages and religions. Stand clear of this movie.

Negative—This movie… was completely stupid and very boring especially with that crunchy country music they had on during it at parts. Too much nude scenes. Get some better actors next time! The commercials were even better. I want my money back!!

…hollow… a sadistic throwback to ’70s redneck freak-outs à la “Return to Macon County” with nods to that era’s revisionist westerns…

…Bizarre… This is just an assault—a deafening, repetitive, gratuitous mess…
