Negative—I think the movie could of been better! I thought Marc Anthony was outstanding in his performance. It felt natural coming from him, to me. Jenniffer Lopez did not fullfill her character to the fullest potential. I saw to much of her Selena character in this movie or maybe it’s just that her acting hasn’t improved. I was dissapointed. The movie very well could of been titled Puchi’s Story. They included her in to many scenes and took focus off of Hector Lavoe. I don’t think this was a good project for Jenniffer and Marc to do together. They should of put a better actress and one who looked more like the real Puchi, I must mention in this role; or does that not matter anymore ? Marc and J.Lo could of did another movie that would of been less important to Lavoe’s fans ! Everytime I watch it, I get upset. You know; Jenniffer could of fell back but no the' Diva' had to be in the spot light as well. The woman who played his sister would of been better off playing the part. Lopez needs to take time and feel her character’s emotions, body language, etc. I didn’t know Puchi personally but as a mom, I know I would of took my son’s death harder than how she acted it out ! Director’s need to stop giving her roles because of who she is and let them go to someone more passionate, capable, featuristic, and adapting. The movie was also a little confusing. Many times she would say one thing in her interview and in the next scene contradict herself. I could state more but I’ll wrap it up right here. …
