The dictionary may describe “divorce” one way but Dave Christiano, the writer of the upcoming movie, “Me and You, Us, Forever,” has a definition for it that's to the point:

“Pain! For all involved and touched by it.”

“Me and You, Us, Forever” is the story about a 47 year old Christian man who is the victom of an unwanted divorce and reflects back on his first love of 30 years ago. The film is set for release in theaters on February 15th.

This drama explores the inner man of the main character as he wonders why God allows such a thing to happen. The character asks the right questions and is looking for answers. Real answers.

This movie tries to put forth help for the hurting. And not only help for those who have been touched by a divorce, which are spouses, children, extended family, friends… virtually everybody, but help for those who have experienced tragedy in their life.

Why does God allow such pain to fracture families and rock people? What can you do about the pain? How do you get healing? How do you deal with bitterness? And anger?

And why didn't our main character marry his first love? “She was perfect for me,” he cries!

The movie puts forth answers. Real answers. Truthful answers. And hopefully, helpful answers.

This motion picture is not a counseling session, but rather an entertainment vehicle that looks at a man who through his pain decided to be totally honest with his feelings, his emotional being, himself, and… with the Lord.

Positive—I really really enjoyed this movie and plan on purchasing it when it becomes available. It did a very good job of explaining the difficulties in divorce. Especially when children are also involved. I suggest both the married, unmarried, and divorced watch this movie because it can help prevent and confirm some questions you may have thought about in the past. I also have to agree with the other persons comment regarding how refreshing it was to watch a movie without worrying about hearing profanity or seeing any type of nudity. Way to go Dave Christiano, just like your previous movies, I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Positive—My husband and I (married 34 years) saw the movie this afternoon. We both really enjoyed a tender story, with no violence, sex, etc. Without those distractions, we could focus on the very real emotions and words used to convey the feelings of the characters. Thank you for making an enjoyable movie that I wouldn't be embarrassed to watch with our adult children!

Neutral—I have to say It had a good message, but I was very disappointed in the film as a whole. I would have liked to seen better acting on the main characters part and was hoping that there would be more about him and his first love. There were people getting up and leaving and I became defensive in that matter because I do believe that there is a message and that there are very few movies that speak of Jesus Christ, as this one does. I feel this would make a better “lifetime” made for TV movie then a theater movie. It was very slow in a lot of parts and the main character repeated himself a lot when speaking to his found first love. All in all I give it an “A” for Jesus Christ but a “D” in the acting and location part. It seemed very low budget.

…I’ve no doubt that Christiano is completely sincere in his attempt here, and I applaud anyone who can get a film made on this level of production, but the results are simply not very good. Worse, they’re just plain dull.
