Each segment in the “Quigley’s Village” series combines live actors together with puppets. It is very similar in style to “Sesame Street”, but with a biblically-based rather than humanistic approach to communicating values. Mr. Quigley is a very friendly man whom the animal puppets rely upon for sound advice. In this episode, it’s time for the “World Champion Hide-and-Seek Contest” and Danny Lion and Spike the Porcupine both want to be the champ. When Danny breaks his arm, Spike thinks it serves him right for thinking that she won’t win the championship. But when Danny needs Spike’s help, they both learn a little more about what being kind really means.
From the examples of the puppets and the good advice given by Mr. Quigley, children will understand why it is important to be kind to each other. Contains three very good sing-along songs that every parent will be happy to hear their children singing throughout the day. This episode is well-written (age appropriate script), has excellent original music, plus good quality sets and very good video effects.
