This is a very enjoyable movie! “Dave and the Giant Pickle” is the story of David and Goliath presented in a humorous style that ALL ages enjoy. And I do mean all ages; we have seen a group of teenagers not miss a second of it! Also, 40+ preachers chuckled through it!
A great Biblical lesson is learned from this video: God can do anything. Regardless of your size, background, knowledge, or whatever, if you let God lead your life, God can and will do what his will is. Dave saves his people by defeating this huge, awesome pickle!
While some may be offended at taking a Bible story and modernizing it, it certainly makes an “old” story come alive for the viewers. True, the real David and his brothers didn’t know that pizza would exist, but it sure is funny when Dave “rushes” it to them, riding atop a sheep! Another nice touch is the vibrating water rings in a glass as the Giant pickle approaches, an idea probably borrowed from “Jurassic Park”.
What is amazing is the excellent animation quality with which “VeggieTales” is made. The quality rivals the much hyped “Toy Story”! Furthermore, the music has been praised as it is also very well done! The songs are great fun, and there’s even an “intermission” that you don’t want to miss!
Great movie! Great entertainment! Great lesson!
