God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. He created us to love Him and enjoy Him forever. Ultimately, those who trust God and follow Him, accepting His gift of salvation, will spend eternity in Paradise with God. We will delight in the unending wonders He is preparing for us there.
God wants each of us to…
Believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him (John 6:28-29), and tell others about Him (Psalm 96:2-3; Proverbs 11:30; Ezekiel 3:18).
Obey His commands, avoiding all sin. God knows everything we do, and He will judge us for everything that we do, and everything we fail to do (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).
Love God and each other. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39).
Be humble in our attitude and actions toward God and others, not proud (Micah 6:6-8; Psalm 138:6; Proverbs 22:4; Isaiah 2:12-17; Matthew 5:5, 20:26-28; James 4:10).
How do we know what God wants us to do? He tells us in the Holy Bible, His Word. There he provides us with valuable information about how to live, what to do and what not to do. His ten commandments given to Moses tell us some of his most basic rules, including “do not lie,” “do not steal,” honor your father and mother, and more (Exodus 20:1-17; Matthew 19:19).
If everyone would follow God’s rules, this world would be a much, much better place to live. More importantly, every sin and every good deed will effect us in eternity. Those who reject God and go to Hell, will be judged for every sin they have done. The more sins one does, the greater the penalties.
Those who accept Jesus Christ will go to Heaven. They will receive wonderful rewards for the good things that they have done in love for God. The more that we do in obedience to God, the more rewards we will receive.
