“beasts” referred to in the Bible
Earth’s mammals
This word is used of flocks or herds of grazing animals (Exodus 22:5; Numbers 20:4, 8, 11; Psalm 78:48); of beasts of burden (Genesis 45:17); of eatable beasts (Proverbs 9:2); and of swift beasts or dromedaries (Isaiah 60:6).
In the New Testament it is used of a domestic animal as property (Rev. 18:13); as used for food (1 Corinthians 15:39), for service (Luke 10:34; Acts 23:24), and for sacrifice (Acts 7:42).
When used in contrast to mankind (Psalm 36:6), it denotes a brute creature generally, and when in contradistinction to creeping things (Leviticus 11:2-7; 27:26), a four-footed animal.
Protection of beasts
The Mosaic law required that beasts of labor should have rest on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:10; 23:12), and in the Sabbatical year all cattle were allowed to roam about freely, and eat whatever grew in the fields (Exodus 23:11; Leviticus 25:7).
No animal could be castrated (Leviticus 22:24).
Animals of different kinds were to always be kept separate (Leviticus 19:19; Deuteronomy 22:10).
Oxen when used in threshing were not to be prevented from eating what was within their reach (Deuteronomy 25:4; 1 Cor.9:9).
Metaphoric beasts
This word is used figuratively of an infuriated crowd (1 Corinthians 15:32; Acts 19:29; compare Psalm 22:12, 16; Eccl. 3:18; Isaiah 11:6-8), and of wicked men (2 Peter 2:12).
Prophecy of wild beasts that kill people during the Antichrist period
Then I looked, and behold, a pale horse; and he who sits on it had the name Death, and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth. —Rev. 6:8
4 Antichrist-time beasts described by Daniel
The four beasts seen by the prophet Daniel represent 4 kingdoms or kings (Daniel 7:3, 17, 23).
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
The first was like a LION, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
And behold another beast, a second, like to a BEAR, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a LEOPARD, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a FOURTH BEAST, DREADFUL AND TERRIBLE, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. —Dan. 7:3-7 KJV
The “little horn” which Daniel saw come up among the other horns of the beast represents the final Antichrist (Dan. 7:8).
Inspired by God, the Apostle John recorded his supernatural vision of “the beast” of the sea and “another beast” (the beast of the Earth) numerous times in his prophetic book of Revelation.
One of the beasts represents the coming Anti-Christ, the other is Satan’s false prophet.
The dragon represents Satan himself, who gives supernatural power to the beasts—strong allies in his fight against God and humanity.
And when they have finished their witness, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them and overcome them and kill them. —Rev. 11:7
And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.
And I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain fatally, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth marveled and followed after the beast. And they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?” —Rev. 13:2-4
Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and he was speaking as a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. —Rev. 13:11-12
And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which were given to him to do in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. —Rev. 13:14-15
Then I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; —Rev. 16:13
A number 666 is mentioned in Revelation—the number of the Anti-Christ beast.
Beastly demon army
A demonic army of 200-million in the form of lion-headed horse-like beasts with deadly tails will kill ⅓ of humanity after the 6th trumpet of The Great Tribulation.
