Forehead of man.

forehead

Foreheads are mentioned many times in Scripture.

Marked foreheads

It was a common practice in the ancient Middle East nations to color the forehead or impress on it some distinctive mark as a sign of devotion to some false deity. This is alluded to in Rev. 13:16-17; 14:9; 17:5; 20:4.

“You are the sons of Yahweh your God; you shall not gash yourselves nor shave your forehead for the sake of the dead. —Deu. 14:1 LSB

Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, and he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His rage, and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. —Rev. 14:9-10

…And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their witness of Jesus and because of the word of God, and who also had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. And they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. —Rev. 20:4
